01Separate confirmed data from assumptions
Mark measured dimensions, required dimensions and items still to be confirmed. If you are replacing an existing heater, say whether the machine arrangement must remain unchanged or whether there is room for a revised design. Do not let a supplier assume that an approximate photograph is a manufacturing drawing.
Use a drawing number and revision. When you change a dimension, update the revision and identify which version the quotation covers. This helps prevent an earlier attachment from becoming the production reference.
02Use a short RFQ checklist
| Section | Useful information |
|---|---|
| Application | What is heated, fluid or block material, temperatures and heating time or throughput |
| Electrical | Voltage, phase, required power if known, circuit grouping and control method |
| Geometry | Tube diameter, mounting datum, active length, bends, fittings and permitted envelope |
| Termination | Studs or leads, lead length, exit direction, enclosure and cable entry |
| Acceptance | Critical dimensions, agreed tests, documents, quantity and delivery destination |
03Add the installation view
A close-up of the heater does not show how it fits the equipment. Add a second sketch of the tank, duct or metal block, with the mounting position and available space. Show the minimum liquid level for an immersion heater, or the bore details for a cartridge heater.
For a shaped tubular element, dimension bends from consistent datums and identify the intended heated section. For finned elements, state the available bank space and air conditions rather than specifying only the tube length. These details let the supplier check the heat-transfer conditions.
04Ask for a reviewable proposal
The quotation should identify the proposed material, electrical rating, dimensional basis and any assumptions. If power is not yet known, ask for a preliminary sizing review and provide the process data. A number copied from another installation is not a substitute for that review.
State any required conformity documentation at the inquiry stage. “CE” or “explosion-proof” on a request is not a complete specification. The supplier needs the target market, equipment scope and applicable operating environment to establish what documentation is relevant.
05Before releasing an order
Resolve open dimensions, approve the drawing revision and agree on inspection records. Keep the accepted quotation, drawing and wiring diagram together. For a repeat order, reference that controlled set instead of asking for “the same heater as last time.”
You can send a sketch, installation photographs and known process data to Dianrezhan for a preliminary requirements review and supplier coordination. Any unresolved items should remain visible in the proposal until they are confirmed.
↗Technical references
Manufacturer references provide background. Use the approved drawing and instructions for the actual heater; the examples above are not purchase specifications.
