Uneven oven temperatureCompare like with like.

A stable controller display does not explain why two parts finish at different temperatures. First establish whether the comparison concerns air locations or product locations, and whether the readings cover the same time interval.

  • Separate air and product data
  • Record loading and sensor locations
  • Repeat the same conditions

01Define the comparison before testing

State the setpoint, qualified workspace, sensor positions, load condition, stabilization condition and evaluation period. A small fluctuation at the control sensor is not the same measurement as temperature variation across the workspace.

A requirement written as ±5°C needs a stated reference and acceptance method. Highest-minus-lowest temperature and deviation from a reference are different descriptions. Agree the method before comparing results.

02Check what changed between runs

03Keep empty and loaded findings separate

An empty survey describes air conditions under its stated test setup. A loaded trial needs a documented production load. If product sensors are used, report product and air traces separately rather than calling every difference an air-uniformity result.

Use the equipment instructions for inspection and adjustment. Electrical and fan repairs belong with the appropriate personnel. Do not close required ventilation or bypass interlocks merely to improve a temperature plot.

04Repeat a comparable trial after adjustment

Keep the initial conditions, load, sensor positions, setpoint and recording interval comparable. Moving the sensors while doubling batch mass makes the result difficult to interpret.

A service request should include trends, a loading photograph, a sensor map and recent changes. For the timing question, see air temperature versus product temperature.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

01Why are parts different when the display changes by only 1°C?+

The display describes the control measuring point. Air distribution, exposure and conduction inside individual parts can differ.

02Is a nine-point survey required for every oven?+

Sensor count, placement and method depend on the applicable requirement, equipment and agreed acceptance conditions. A published example is not a universal test specification.

03Should I open the air outlets farther?+

Check the designed supply/return arrangement and loading first. Verify any approved adjustment with a comparable recorded trial.
